The John Muir Award is the main educational initiative of the John Muir Trust.  It is an environmental award scheme focused on wild places which encourages awareness and responsibility for the natural environment in a spirit of fun, adventure and exploration.

All S1 Northfield Academy pupils have the opportunity to gain a John Muir Award as part of their S1 curriculum for excellence.

The Millennium Volunteer (MV) Awards are endorsed by the Scottish Executive as a positive recognition of the commitment and contribution made by young volunteers.

All S5 & S6 Northfield Academy students have the opportunity to achieve  a MV Award for 50+ hours voluntary service.
